How we communicate is so important, no matter what job you do. It is near impossible to not have to communicate in some way or another. But how we communicate can be very different. The words we say are only 7% of what people hear, 38% is our tone or volume, and 55% is non-verbal, which takes place? in your facial expressions and gestures.

16 Personalities
In one of my previous post (https://livingeachmoment.com/when-life-gives-you-lemons/), I spoke about how to use the 16 Personality test or the MBTI to help you achieve more. The online version I recommend is (https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test).
Today I am going to discuss how I have gained a better understanding of myself and the way I am with people. How this has helped and supported me, in different aspects of my life and how you can do the same.

Nowadays, coaching is becoming a big thing; there are so many courses, so many different types and so many people offering to coach. But what is it and why should it be something that everyone should consider?
SkillsYouNeed explains coaching as a “process that aims to improve performance and focuses on the ‘here and now’ rather than on the distant past or future”. They also explain that coaches are not always experts but are “a facilitator of learning” for the coachee.

I have done a lot of thinking about this one for some time and knew it was something I wanted to delve into more, especially in the current climate. It took me some thinking and time to set my mind on what part of contact with others to even look at.
We have five senses; Sight (visual), Sound (audio), Touch, Smell and Taste (last 3 comprising of you kinesthetic senses). The first of our senses to develop even before we are born is the one of touch. It has come down the line from our primate relatives and it was a distinct part for their development and their grooming process. As a baby, we need and crave the emotional stimulations from physical touch, especially that of our mothers. We learn from a young age how touch can relieve stress and offer comfort and safety. Studies have shown how the impact of these interactions, or lack of, when a baby is young can affect a person’s physical and mental well-being when they are older. Something to think about, right?

We are in the middle of what can only be described as the biggest set of changes we have all had to make to our lives. We are going through a very uncertain time and this is particularly hard for young people to understand. One way to help and support our kids is to support ourselves first. Something that I have repeated a lot this year and is particularly important to remember now; you need to put your oxygen mask on first before helping others. If you do everything for everybody else first, you won’t be able to help them for long. I have put together some top tips below to help you stay balanced at this.

Currently, I know I keep going around a common theme, that of how to better one’s self, not even that, but gain more of what you want in life, your life. My reason for this is for the first time in a long time we are all spending more time with ourselves as I am too. I have a good sense of self and know how to look after my well-being and how important it is. However, I don’t always give myself the time to just be. And, allow me the time to work on me. Over the past 2 months, I have appreciated greatly the time I am spending focusing on me, but also how I enjoy being busy, which I now refer to as being productive and doing what I can to support others. It doesn’t drain me but gives me more energy and a purpose!
So what has this got to do with the law of attraction and where do letters to my future self fit in?

If you were to look at me, you would think nothing different about me. I am a relatively fit, active and smiley 32-year-old, Yes, my friends slag me off for being so pale but that is more my avoidance of too much sun and my Irish skin, not sure why I decided to live in the desert! This month will mark my 20th year anniversary of living with a long term invisible illness, also referred to as a disease. I suffer from Type 1 Diabetes; one of my biggest frustrations of being a person with diabetes is that people group diabetes as one. My family even being one of them. I remember being questioned by my sister as to why had I lost so much weight. I was 12 and in my own little world, I had no idea that I had lost any weight. My brother had been diagnosed with diabetes a couple of years previously. I remember hearing, “He drinks too many sugary drinks and this is what may have caused it”. This wasn’t the case, he just happened to develop Type 1 late in life as it is generally seen in younger children. When it was discovered that my blood was reading high, I remember thinking and feeling that I must have done something to cause this and what had I done, I felt my life was over.

We all go through many different relationships within our lives, whether it is with partners, family, friends, work, sports, ourselves or the one that is always there consistently, which is food. We can have unhealthy and healthy relationships with food, and this can change at different times. Also, it doesn’t matter if you eat healthily or not, you could have either relationship.
I thought it was a good idea for myself to spend some time especially now as we live in a more restricted world focusing on this topic and getting a better understanding of it myself. I would believe that I eat healthy enough; I love cooking and trying new foods. I am a diabetic so I don’t like overly sweet things although I did develop a sweeter tooth when I was diagnosed in 2000, which we will come back to that later on. I would not be a big fan of fried food, but I still have an unstable relationship with food. In some ways, I believe my diabetes has enabled this more. So, what causes our relationships with food to be as they are?

Okay, you may look at the title and feel like throwing the lemons back at the life. Let’s start with how frustrating the situation is at present for everyone in the world. It doesn’t matter if you are famous, rich, poor, where you come from, or even, where you are in the world, right now. It is May 2020 and we are all going through a global crisis, yes, some people may have it easier than others, being able to work, not having to support a family, having a massive house to live in, and so on. But as my earlier posts discussed, we are all in this together. This post is not going to be about COVID-19 or anything like that, but it is a good place to start the discussion.
I don’t know about anyone else, but, I know how I felt the first couple of weeks, I was keeping myself overly busy. I am an active person, who is always doing 3 different things at the same time and I love it. I take downtime when I need it, but, all of a sudden, I was faced with having to take a lot of downtime, and, time alone with myself. We have all got used to this new age of life, where we don’t take time with ourselves the way we should and live in a world where everything has to be done now. It can be great to spend time by yourself and really get to know who you have become, but on the other hand, it can be scary as we have a tendency to be extra critical of ourselves and not see what others can potentially see in us.

Vision boards have become a massive thing over the last couple of years. If you ever made a collage as a kid or did brainstorming activities, you have ventured into the world of vision boards already. The purpose of a vision board is to help you visualize a goal or goals you want to achieve.
There are many ways you can do your board, there are online ones if you are more of a computer edits sort of person or the old fashioned version of paper, glue and magazines. I have tried and tested both and I personally prefer the paper version. I am a person with a lot of thoughts and ideas running around my head at any given point so I generally don’t focus my board on one particular goal.
