Anything is possible – making this year yours, no matter what

The term anything is possible can be negative and positive in ways. Yes, there are going to be somethings that are not possible for people for whatever reason for example I will never fly a plane because my diabetes might restrict this, this does not bother me as I would never want to anyway. And we all have these things that are out of our reach but are okay being there, but then there are other things that are achievable but would make us face some challenges to achieve and may not be achievable right now.

Think about the things that are stopping you from achieving what you really want? It could be money, family commitments, fear of achieving it, fear of not achieving it, and so on. But the main thing that is stopping us is ourselves.

I know the last year has not been normal for anyone but you made it here so that is already an achievement. It has challenged us mentally, physically, financially and we experienced things we never thought were imaginable, but from everything that is difficult we still can gain many things, for instance, a new perspective, a new understanding, a new calling, and so on. So, to make this year yours and achieve whatever it is you want to achieve or start on, we need to look back at the year that just was to grasp what we have learned and how to take this learning with us.

Grab a pen and paper and answer these following questions;

  1. What went well?
  2. What did this year teach you?
  3. What did you learn about yourself?
  4. What do you want to leave behind you this year and why?
  5. What is something funny you will tell people about last year when you tell them in 2040 about your 2020?
  6. Who are the people you formed a deeper connection with last year?
  7. Anything you would change about yourself from this year?
  8. What or who are you most thankful for?
  9. Something you did for the first time and what it thought you?
  10. What made you proud of yourself this year?

Now we have spent some time thinking about last year, it is time to move on to this year.

  1. What will you do differently this year compared to last year?
  2. What will you take with you from last year into this one?
  3. What do you dream of for this year?
  4. Where do you see yourself at the end of 2021?
  5. Who will you or should you connect with this year?
  6. How will you deal with uncertainties that may come up?
  7. What thinking pattern do you need to edit or change for this year?
  8. If you could do anything without limitations what would it be?
  9. What is stopping you from this?
  10. What are the best parts of me, that I will continue to grow and shine this year?

This is something we can do at any point in our lives and at any point of the year. These questions should be the starting point for developing your thoughts and ideas for yourself and your year to come. Focus on what you can work on at present and start small building up to the bigger things, the year is long, and trying to do everything at once will cause them all to fail. Create a vision board to keep your focus centered and it can help you answer some of these questions also. The most important thing to do is to have fun while doing anything as it will come more naturally to you and who does not want to have fun doing something. If we believe anything is possible you will be surprised about what you can achieve or find along the way. I wish you the best for making this year yours in whatever shape or form that is.
